As of May 1 2026, a new train station is serving travelers to and from Copenhagen Airport (CPH). Either you take the train to and from the city center or Malmö Sweden, you are diverted through this new passage to reach tracks 11 and 12.

Follow our video to find the way to the new Copenhagen Airport train station. Make sure to follow live instruction on screens as train departures might vary.

The airport’s train station was expanded with two new platforms, a dedicated footbridge, and improved track layouts in a project called New Kastrup Airport Station. This upgrade is designed to meet future demands on the Øresund Line and ensure seamless connections between planes, trains and metro.

Why the Copenhagen Airport Station Expansion Is Happening

The rail station at Copenhagen Airport (CPH at Kastrup) – officially the station beneath the airport terminal serving the Øresund Line – is undergoing a substantial upgrade. The operator Sund & Bælt explains that the section is a “very busy section which means that current capacity is challenged” and that further demand is expected when the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link opens.

Specifically, the project known as New Kastrup Airport Station encompasses:

  • The addition of two new platforms north of Terminal 3.
  • Upgrades of the existing platforms and improvement of track layout, including new points/switches to allow more direction-specific train operations.
  • A new pedestrian/footbridge linking the new platforms and the airport terminal, improving accessibility for passengers.

The aim: better capacity, smoother passenger flows, and more efficient handling of trains — both passenger and freight.
